Okay, so way too many things have happened since my last post. Er, my last real post.
I have a second job all but set for the summer. This one involves playing with video cameras. Whee~
I went to ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) windstar127's wedding, which was the most amazing wedding I'll probably ever witness.
I spent Mother's Day without any sort of contact with any sort of mother figure. (Hello fate, may I have the pleasure of kicking your ass one of these days?)
I re-styled my Sync wig, after about a year of thinking "I totally could do that better." I also wish I had a better base, but given what I've got I think I'm pretty close to the best I can do.
I realized that my mentality about cosplay has shifted so much in two years. Today I was picking out my ACen costumes, and after a few minutes of trying to decide which other ones I should drag along (way too many of them need semi-major fixing before I can wear them again), I realized that I'd already decided on four. And my brain was still screaming that it wasn't enough. (TJ Sasuke Black Version, Yakushi Kabuto yes I still wear it, Sync, and Isley, for the curious.) I should really pack.
I'm really close to committing to taking care of one of the hall cats (Reese, the orange one, for all none of you who know) next year.
I finally FINALLY played Brawl. And damn, did Kirby get a power boost or what?! (Also, I like Pit. Finally I get a five-jump character that doesn't resemble a ball. But his up-B pisses me off.)
I got added to random-hall-talk. I'm living at Random over the summer btw (YAY!) but I don't know where in the dorm yet.
I kinda want to get back into icon making.
Finals start in a little over a week. |

THIS IS MY OFFICIAL "HAY GUYZ IMA BE AT ACEN" POST.
Just so you can't all say I didn't tell you. :D
Also, I sometimes have strange dreams when I nap. Today's involving a bunch of Randomites and a house that looked like a cross between Kathleen's (no one on my FL knows who this is... wow...) house and all those cute cottage... hotel... whatever they were that we always stayed in up at Smuggler's Notch. Someone, I forget who now, but they clearly should have known better was super surprised to find out that I was into anime. It ended with my nose getting all stuffed up, and then I blew my nose only to have two blue cubes of gum come out (wtf). But there was something that I ate with blue gum cubes in it so it kinda made sense in weird twisted dream-logic.
Also, I have better plans for the giant polycarbonate wings of doom. Now with just as much giant, 100% less polycarbonate, more wood, and less doom.
WHY ARE ALL MY HOPEFUL CLASSES NEXT SEMESTER IN THE SAME TIMESLOTS?! Srsly.
There was one last thing that I wanted to say, but I forget what now.
EDIT: Oh yeah! I'm nearly out of melatonin, and there's no place on campus that sells it. :/ I think I'll have to treck into Cambridge sometime over the weekend to get more. |

1) I'm almost out of disk space D: I went in today and deleted, like... 3 gigs of .zip files (that had been opened, of course...) I think the next thing to go is going to be the AMVs, as those seem to love munching space. Or duplicate 4chan fanart.
2) Now that I'm slowly getting over the EXPENSIVE POLYCARBONATE OW, I'm looking at the practical side of things. Like where I can go for tools to work on it with, how I'd actually aquire said polycarbonate without spending over a con's worth of money on shipping alone (neither Home Depot nor Lowes lists individual sheets as for sale on their websites, but my bet would be it's a different story if I ask in-person), and once I aquire it, how I'd lug it around to wherever I'm taking it. I can just imagine myself trying to get two 4'x8' slabs onto the T. Because apparently non-warehouse places don't sell it in 4'x6', only 4'x4' or 4'x8'.
3) 18.03 WANTS MY SOUL. srsly. Hard test is painful.
4) ROFLCon is at MIT? This weekend? Wut?
5) I need to start making my ANext costume. And my Otakon costumes. And planning for ACen. And making my brother's kimono. And...

Yeah. Um. 18.03 sucks. Like, if what my TA said is to be trusted, and if the notes are correct, I have to solve for "a" such that
x(0+)=0 and x'(0+)=1
when
x = ae^(-kt)
...
THAT DOES NOT WORK. AND I DON'T ACTUALLY THINK THE DERIVATIVE OF THE IMPULSE FUNCTION APPROACHING ZERO FROM ABOVE IS ONE. BUT THAT'S WHAT MY TA SAID. SO I SMILE, NOD, AND BANG A HOLE INTO MY HEAD FIGURING OUT MATHEMATICALLY IMPOSSIBLE... MATH.

So apparently people have gotten into Random from as low on the waitlist as 12th. That is good.
But also, apparently one of the girls who's been so-so on the waitlist for longer than I have is probably actually committing to switching in, and another is coming back from Spain and is guarenteed a spot.
Since Random does all transfers with gender consideration, this is bad.
But on a less depressing note, I spent about 6 hours today with fellow Storytellers. (Two seminars that ran over two hours each, plus a small group of us grabbed dinner and ate together. At night. When it was kinda windy. And really dark. Because it was 9. Hoo-rah.) I'm sure the time could have been spent working on my looming 18.03 P-set, but whatever. It was fun, and a rather needed break.
I also finally figured out the discrepency in the hiding-in-plain-sight-behind-the-door story regarding last year's tours. Yay!
I'll go sleep now. |
